Bachelet-Monnot

Domaine Bachelet-Monnot is a rising star in Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune, founded in 2005 by brothers Marc and Alexandre Bachelet. Based in Dezize-lès-Maranges, the domaine combines family-owned vineyards with long-term leases, now farming approximately 22 hectares across several appellations. Their holdings span prestigious sites such as Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet, Meursault, Saint-Aubin, Santenay, and Maranges, including Grand Cru vineyards like Bâtard-Montrachet and Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet.

New blood, prestigious plots and ecological production - it's all about Bachelet-Monnot.

The Bachelet brothers practice organic viticulture, avoiding herbicides and employing regular ploughing to aerate the soil and encourage deep root growth. Yields are kept low through strict de-budding, and all grapes are handpicked at optimal ripeness . In the cellar, white wines undergo a long press before fermentation with indigenous yeasts in larger 350-liter barrels, followed by 12 months of barrel aging and an additional 6 months in stainless steel tanks. Red wines are mostly de-stemmed, with fermentation in vats and aging in oak barrels, using approximately 25% new oak.

Their wines are celebrated for their precision, balance, and expression of terroir. The whites are described as layered, racy, and long, while the reds are noted for their aromatic lift, grain, and texture, making them compelling examples of Pinot Noir from the Côte d’Or . Notable cuvées include Maranges 1er Cru "La Fussière," Santenay Rouge "Les Charmes Dessus," and Meursault "Clos du Cromin." The domaine's approach has drawn comparisons to Burgundy elites, with their wines gaining international recognition for their quality and value.

Domaine Bachelet-Monnot exemplifies the new generation of Burgundy producers, combining respect for tradition with innovative practices to craft wines that reflect the unique character of each vineyard. Their commitment to excellence and terroir-driven winemaking continues to elevate their reputation among wine enthusiasts and collectors worldwide.
