Vietti is a historic and acclaimed winery situated in Castiglione Falletto, a picturesque village in the heart of Italy’s Langhe region. Founded in the late 1800s by Carlo Vietti, the estate began bottling its own wines in the early 20th century under the direction of Mario Vietti.
Barolo and other outstanding wines as an example of Vietti excellence.
A pivotal moment came in the 1960s when Luciana Vietti married Alfredo Currado, a visionary winemaker and art enthusiast. Alfredo introduced several innovations, including one of the first single-vineyard Barolos (Rocche di Castiglione in 1961), the revival of the nearly extinct Arneis grape in 1967, and the creation of the Artist Label series in 1974, blending fine art with fine wine.
Today, Vietti is celebrated for its exceptional Barolo wines, crafted from Nebbiolo grapes sourced from prestigious crus such as Brunate, Lazzarito, Ravera, and Rocche di Castiglione. The winery also produces outstanding Barbera wines, including La Crena and Vigna Scarrone, as well as Dolcetto, Moscato d’Asti, and the white Arneis. Vietti's commitment to quality is evident in its meticulous vineyard management and traditional winemaking techniques, including aging in large oak casks and extended bottle maturation.
Under the stewardship of Luca Currado Vietti, Alfredo and Luciana's son, the winery has continued to innovate while honoring its rich heritage. Luca has expanded Vietti's international presence and maintained its reputation for excellence. The estate's dedication to expressing the unique terroir of each vineyard has solidified its status as one of Piedmont's—and Italy's—most esteemed wine producers.
